About Us

Mermet Australia

Mermet fibreglass fabrics and GreenscreenŽ polyester fabrics have reshaped conventional thinking about blinds. By producing high performance, intelligent fabrics, Mermet has become one of the most valued solar protection products in the world. Mermet have developed internal and external screen fabrics suitable for the home, as well as office fit outs, signage and acoustic applications.

Mermet, Australia are also home to the colourful Cachet Range, a beautiful collection of fabrics for roller blinds, panel glides and roman blinds, in eight colour groups and three levels of light filtering: transparent, translucent and blockout.

Today you can see Mermet fabrics wherever quality is important. They have been used in Sofitel hotels in Chicago and Shanghai, the Petronis Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the award winning Aurora Place, NSW Police complex, the Ernst and Young buildings in Melbourne and Sydney, the Freshwater Place in Melbourne, the 6 Star Melbourne Convention Centre and the award winning Glass House at Brick Bay Winery in New Zealand to name just a few.

Mermet started weaving in France in 1951 and have since become a multinational company. They pioneered SunscreenŽ fabrics in 1976 and have weaving mills and research & development departments in both France and the USA. Mermet's commitment to research has lead to the development of a superior yarn for screen fabrics that is finer, has the highest level of fire retardancy, is human-ecologically friendly and does not contain dangerous solvents.

With over 160 colours, a variety of widths up to 3.1meters, a choice of transparent, translucent or total blackout, whether inside or out, Mermet's quality range of intelligent Classic screen fabrics and the stylish Cachet Range provide a functionality and beauty that is stylish and world class.
